Motivity is excited to welcome Amy Legan as the newest member of its Scientific Advisory Board. Amy is the co-founder and COO of Aspire Behavior Solutions in Fairbanks, Alaska, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and one of Motivity's longest-standing customers.

She brings exactly what the board was designed to include: the perspective of someone who builds, runs, and protects an ABA practice every single day.

Why Amy

When Motivity's Scientific Advisory Board took shape, the first appointment was Dr. Ellie Kazemi, a researcher and thought leader in outcomes science, value-based care, and the role of technology in behavioral health. That set the academic and scientific foundation. Amy sets the operational one.

Amy has been in the ABA field since 2009. She earned her BCBA in 2013 and co-founded Aspire Behavior Solutions in Fairbanks, Alaska, where she's run her practice on Motivity for over five years. Her expertise sits at the intersection of compliance, billing, advocacy, and regulations. She knows what clean claims look like because she fights for them. She knows what compliance gaps cost because she's closed them.

Beyond her practice, Amy serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP) and has been active on committees focused on advocacy and access to quality care. She also leads two Special Interest Groups: one focused on TRICARE, specifically related to issues and advocacy within the West Region, and another designed to support small ABA business owners and leaders.

And she does all of it from Fairbanks. Running a practice in Alaska means staffing challenges, payor dynamics, and access barriers that most providers in the lower 48 never deal with. That kind of operational pressure sharpens how you evaluate tools, workflows, and where things break down. It's the perspective that keeps product decisions honest.

Motivity's clinical platform, practice management, and RCM capabilities serve hundreds of ABA providers across the country. Amy's lens helps make sure what gets built next reflects what providers face, especially practices navigating compliance and billing complexity without a dedicated ops team behind them.

What Motivity's Scientific Advisory Board Does

Motivity’s Scientific Advisory Board brings together leaders across clinical, operational, and innovation domains. Members provide strategic feedback on product direction, share insight on industry trends and payor dynamics, and help keep Motivity aligned with how ABA is practiced.

The role is about perspective, challenge, and guidance. Members participate in semi-annual meetings, focused workgroups, and ongoing dialogue that shapes priorities and informs Motivity's roadmap.

Looking Ahead

Amy shared her perspective on running a practice in Alaska, what she's learned about leadership in ABA, and why she wanted to be part of this board in an interview with us.

Motivity's Scientific Advisory Board will continue growing with members who represent the full breadth of the field: clinical leaders, operational experts, and specialists in areas like payor relations and emerging technology. Every seat is intentional.
